Taking to the tracks in support of Prostate Cancer.

Andrew Bartlett, Director

Harmsen Tilney Shane is taking to the tracks for charity this weekend by sponsoring a car in the annual star-studded Silverstone Classic Celebrity Challenge Trophy Race.

Considered one of the biggest race meetings of the year, the Silverstone Classic will raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and involves a series of races across the weekend (Friday 28th July and Saturday 29th July).

Celebrities donning their driving gloves and helmets for charity include Take That’s Howard Donald, Olympic gold medal winning rower Jonny Searle MBE, boxing champion Carl Froch, BBC sports presenter Vassos Alexander and a whole host of other famous motorsport names.

Owners of the 1950s cars will qualify today and race on Sunday while the celebrities, together with their team captains, will be in action on Saturday.  The Harmsen Tilney Shane Austin A35 car will join the Saturday race driven by Ex-Formula 1 driver Martin Donnelly and accompanied by team captain Jonathan Lewis.

Andrew Bartlett from Harmsen Tilney Shane said:

“This is such a high-profile racing event and it’s all for an incredibly worthy cause. We were only too happy to lend our support and can’t wait to see the Harmsen Tilney Shane car whizzing round the tracks. Here’s to a good position on the grid and a race to remember.”

We hope to share pictures of Martin and Jonathan on the day. In the meantime, here is a link to the event website for more information.
